I was offered a customer service/data entry position. I was instructed to download ms team and give my information (typical information) and to check the mail for a package that I will be receiving a check for job equipment purchases. I never received a check nor heard from "the manager" ever again. Now I'm worried about my personal information being out in the wind when apparently it's not being used for intended use because now it's quite obvious that this is a scam.

I was informed that I received a position as a Data Entry/Administrative Assistant/Customer Service/Payroll Clerk/Call Center/Accounting. I answered the questions that was sent to me just routine, on July 19, 2022. The next day, I was told that I was chosen for the job. Then, this is where everything did not match up. They wanted to send me a check, so I can buy office equipment to do the job remotely, but the first check was fraudulent. I took it to the Prosperity Bank and they informed me about it via UPS. Next, they sent a check from Gesa Credit Union, a cashier's check, via FedEx and my bank told me not to deposit it, just tear it up. He was head strong to tell me to just deposit the check because everything is 100 percent legitimate. I received, the first check and with the second one all alarms with off.
