Type of a scam Online Purchase
A friend who was almost induced into falling for a scam run by PWG Agenor Logistics.
Below is my account of what I did to try and verify the company’s existence and information on what appears to be fraudulent claim of PWG supporting the United Way.
I contacted the United Way in Ottawa and Burlington. Neither had any record of a gift from PWG (see http://www.shippingnews.biz/dnvgl.com/PWG-Agenor-Logistics-gives-1-million-to-Un...⇄ in which PWG states the following:
(1)PWG Agenor Logistics raised over $1 million in 2013 across the country towards the United Way, the company announced. PWG Agenor Logistics was honoured with United Way Centraide Canadas national Thanks a Million award, presented at the United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamiltons Annual General Meeting in Burlington on June 24. . . .
(2)Recently, approximately 1,500 Calgarians rallied together at the annual Pulling for U United Way plane pull event hosted by PWG Agenor Logistics; and raised over $75,000, the company said.
Below are my notes of telephone conversations with Burlington and Ottawa

(UW Calgary (plane pull) *** (Aug 01--19: ***--left message)
United Way Centraide *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** (Aug 01--19; *** admin officer) found article re UW donations; for 2013 not a recipient and not on Thanks a Million award list; she located DNV post about the award; I told her about the Calgary "hosting" and that I had left a message with Calgary UW
Below is my telephone conversation with the ScamPulse.com of Halifax.
Halifax ScamPulse.com *** *** *** says had another call from someone in Ottawa who says he was told PWG would transport vehicle to Ottawa from Halifax; says this person found vehicle on auto traders; I told her the soldier story and she has heard it before; she said check history of vehicle (must have VIN #) on wwwcarfax.ca; says would not take the risk; better to buy locally; Casino Taxi says there is no 64-66 Chain Link Drive; numbers sttart at 84 (***; 98 is a hotel.
