I had been looking for a teacup maltese for some time. I had saw the website above and contacted Clayton Benson to purchase a particular puppy. He immediately contacted me via email and by phone. Told me the puppy was available. It was a $300 deposit. The total cost was going to be $750 ($650 for the dog plus $100 flight). He stated he was based out of Houston, TX. I asked for additional pictures of the dog - which he sent 4. I asked for the name of the vet - which he sent. I sent the deposit via Western Union. Which he used his DL to pick up and per Western Union is on video surveillance. He remained in contact with me and stated he would provide me with flight information today. In the meantime - I was showing a friend at work and found a second website with the same dogs. I immediately contacted him and he said yes he had two websites. I asked him to send me another picture of the dog next to a current news paper. He stated he would when he got home. He failed to do so. I contacted him and requested a refund for my deposit multiple times - now he will no longer respond. I immediately filed a complaints with the FTC and Western Union. Both Western Union and FTC have provided me with case numbers. I will also file a police report with my local department.
