Puppy scam. Reports & Reviews (1)

I saw a puppy for sale on a Shih tzu group site. A name kept popping up: Kelly Johnson. Numerous pictures of people raving about how wonderful she was to work with, easy transaction, quick delivery, very satisfied people who love the puppy they purchased. I clicked on her name. We communicated via messenger. She sounded so legitimate and nice. She described the transaction as "You put half of the amount down which was $400.00."  Once delivered I'd pay the other half. The delivery was supposed to be free. She said the puppy would be delivered the next day. Once they got the money they would register it with the airlines. She implied someone would be bringing the puppy. She than said that the agency they use would bring her. She sent me a picture of the certificate of ownership transferred over to me the next day. She then asked what time I would like her delivered. They would only take payment through paypal or Zelle, etc. I used Zelle. When I asked for her information she told me to send it to her "husbands" e-mail. Zelle asked if this was a buisness or personal. They said buisness. When I asked what the business's name was they just had me use her husbands name. (I thought they were just private breeders). The $400 transferred through and they wanted a picture of the transfer so they could prove it was transferred. Next morning she texted me and said everything was all set, they registered her and she should be on her way. When I asked what time she thought she'd arrive she told me the courier company they use would contact me. I asked for the number. None given. Shortly a International transportation company contacts me, welcomes me, looks professional and legitimate. Then it says I need to pay $400 to rent a carrier so the pet is comfortable. Or purchase it for $800. Once delivered I would be refunded the money. That doesn't make sense at all. I immediately sent a message and said it was supposed to be free. She then proceeded to say she paid it and she'd call them. Then contacted me about a 1/2 hour later saying she called. I then asked what they said. Then she said the money would be 100% refunded. I said no way. I'd pay that then there would be something else they would charge me for. I don't trust them. I'm backing out of the transaction. Response was they used them for 8 years and totally reliable, etc. I said no, I'm sorry as much as I want the puppy I have to back out. Please refund my deposit. I had my bank account up and was going to try and cancel it. They were smart and kept me on just long enough for the money to show up in my account as transferred to them. After that they wouldn't respond for to my request for a refund. They are very good at what they do. They know how to play on people's emotions. I had to put my shih tzu down just 3 weeks ago. Lost my husband in July to colon cancer. I was trying to fill an unfillable void. I know others are scammed as well I just want people to not fall for this scam. Do not do business with Kelly Johnson. I lost the money and have no puppy. This is a puppy scam.
