My mother & I wanted to purchase a puppy for my father for his birthday. My mother found this website and fell in love with this dog that was for sale on the site. The site is called https://puppiesse.com/ and she was in text message contact with the individual selling the puppies. We wanted to purchase LULU, a Berenedoodle (Bernese Mountain dog & poodle mix) that was on their site. We were led to believe that this purchase was legitimate when it really wasn't. These scammers told us to pay a deposit of $500 and then owe them the remainder of the money ($200.00) when the dog was dropped off at our house in Orange County, CA. The total was $700.00. They instructed us to send the money via Zelle to this account "Shenoemi Fields" ([email protected]) on 2/25. We sent the $500.00 via Zelle. There was communication between my mother and this scammer up until the date of when the dog would arrive. The communication stopped. We NEVER received LULU. We tried to call/text that number but no response. They indicated that on the day of travel, we'll receive updates on flight information/tracking. Never received that either. The VM read "this text subscriber" can no longer take calls. We tried to explain that we want more communication fo when the flight would happen from TX to CA. The dog was suppose to come on Sunday, Feb 28th but this scammer gave the excuse that covid limited the travel and that Monday would be better. After that message on Sunday, we didn't hear back. We fell victim to this awful scam and we are frustrated, angry and hurt. We want our $500 back and we want justice that these people do not do this again and that this site and business to be shut down. I placed a call to my bank to let them know of this situation and what are the steps to get my money back. Please help me with this. I have all the communication (screenshots) via text message between my mother and the scammer.
