I received a call from Deborah Holland, VP of PCH stating I had won one of their prizes. I was asked to call (838) 332-2366 for customer support to claim the prize (I hadn’t entered the PCH contest) so

I investigated Ms Holland on the internet and found that this was a scam so I didn’t

call that number.

I checked the header information on my phone and the number that they called from was (501) 271-4254.

He gave my mom his name James Braff ID#5733JB He had a check #00933145 for 1.5 Million. He told her to go to CVS and have a valid ID, and for her to go by herself. Then she came to get me to help her and I noticed the call is from Jamaica. I told him that I was going to report him for fraud. I called on my other phone and he answered by saying PCH and then he hung up on my mothers phone. I told her that it's a fraud and don't ever answer and give out any of her information.

Claimed to be publishing clearing house saying I won a sweepstakes/lottery and told me I need to pay to get my funds.

- Madera, CA, USA • May 18, 2023

I received a call from Publishers Clearing house saying I had won $7m dollars and a vehicle and that they were on their way from Washington State to deliver the car and check. I am 81 years old so I am not familiar with these things. They said I had been entered in a sweepstakes through one of my credit card companies that I had just applied for so it made sense at the time. They told me that I would need to go this CVS and get a PAC acct prepaid debt card acct and send them $1500.00 to pay for taxes and licensing fee for the money and vehicle. I went to the CVS and got the money and called the with the information. Then they said they wouldn't arrive until the following day they were stopping I a city between Washington state and California. I waited the next day for them to show and no show. I called the phone number given to me and the gentleman I was working with answered. He said that he was still on his way. My daughter came by to check on me and my sister that resides with me and overheard me talking to this gentleman and she inquired about the call. She got on the phone and asked this man questions and he denied that he was a legitiment person and that he was really going to come through for me. She told me not to believe him but I still went through with the process. In the end the man ended up getting access to my computer somehow and cleaning my accounts out. He got external access to my account and got my SSI check and my balance. This has been bad experience and I am still trying to clean up the mess made by this person. If I ca help someone not get scammed by telling my story that's justice to me. If you are elderly and have no knowledge over a company contacting you is legit please talk to someone you know and trust to help yo look in to these scams before losing out on a lot of money. There are people at your bank or social services like Adult protective services that have the resources to help.

When I requested to speak to a supervisor. He first indicated that there was none on duty, then he indicated he would search for one finally he indicated that would have someone provide me with a call back. I've paid IRS taxes since I was 16 years up the age of my retirement at no time have I ever had to pay a pretax payment on unearned income which was claiming I needed to pay tremendously big red flag and I challenge him his claim he got immediately irretated that I asked such question.

Attached is a letter received by snail mail, purportedly to a "Rosie Smith" advising that she is a "grand prize winner" of $750,000. The letter is purportedly sent from Publishers Clearing House ("PCH"). Enclosed with the letter is a check in the amount of $9,867.70. The check is allegedly issued from Insurance Capital Group ("ICG") and includes the correct registered address of ICG. This scam report is submitted on behalf of ICG, which received the attached document in early April. ICG does not know where this letter came from, or what it is related to, although it is clearly a scam using ICG's business name and address. The envelope containing the letter appears to have been post-marked in Texas. ICG has no relationship or affiliation with PCH, the National Lottery, or any sweepstakes or prize offerings, nor is it acquainted with any persons referenced in the attached document.

We did not answer the call. Scammer left message saying he was Bruce someone (I forgot his last name) from Publishers Clearinghouse and we had won a prize and to call him at his office phone at 516-399-3695, which we did not do.

Writing on behalf of my mother. I am an authorized user on this account. My mom, received a letter from “publishing clearing house” saying she won money. She threw away this letter because I told her it was fraudulent. They then called her and she followed through with believing them. They said she wont 2.5 million dollars and a new Mercedes car and it would be delivered Monday. My mom gave me the number of the contact “Danielle lamb” who was contacted at Phone-9412471798. I told her to hold off on doing anything as her daughter. In the meantime, my mom who is very vulnerable followed through on a request of theirs to go to Cvs to purchase a cash card. She proceeded to do that and provide them with the number. The purchase was on 3/18/23 for $506.95. They proceeded to use the value of 500$ on the card to purchase “Draftkings sports book ny- O6002E4C5EEB” on 3/18/23 at 6:42pm. When I found out my mom had done this I called the contact “Danielle” back and told her this was fraudulent and I am reporting her, of course she hung up and declined further calls. This was a scam that my mother fell because she is elderly and vulnerable.

Thank you
