Client receiving Therapy sessions with her daughter and there was a change in the insurance and the new insurance has/is not being billed. They continue to bill the Mother's insurance and have now presented her will an outstanding balance, holding her to not be able to participate in court ordered therapy sessions. I believe when there is an insurance change regardless of when the practice is notified the practice is to present the new insurance with the sessions that have taken place and will be taking place upon the insurance change and be billing the "new" insurance and not the other insurance.
