On May 16, 2021 I contacted a merchant named Lauren Keller online at https://softpalmteacuppom.com a site that no longer exists. At the time I was told she had two available tea cup Pomeranians named max and Molly that were available for sale.. I agreed to purchase max and Molly for $1500.00. I was a lil apprehensive about sending this amount of money with the understanding that the dogs would be flown out to me. But agreed to send $750.00 upfront and paying the remainder upon delivery. The dogs were supposed to be mailed out the next morning after making my Zelle payment to her. She wanted me to send here an email of once the Zelle was sent. By providing a snapshot of the sent funds for confirmation. Once sent the money I was given a bill of sale via email. Everything was a go supposedly. Later in the evening I get an email from https://www.skywestexpress.com stating that I needed to pay an additional $1500.00 for a crate for the puppies. Mind you on softpalmteacuppom.com they advertised that they provided crates free of charge. So I refused to pay any additional money. I never did receive my puppies in the mail. Nor did I receive a refund to date I am still searching. Lauren Keller number at the time was +1 (406) 344-5545 the number on her Zelle was (201) 213-9224. At the time she listed her address as 14 Cloverview Dr Helena MT 5960. Unable to upload photos for some reason.

While researching Pomeranian puppies for purchase I located a website stating they were in Helena Montana and they had available puppies for purchase. I emailed through the website saying we were looking to purchase two puppies for family pets. The site was http://pruceteacuppom.com/available-puppies/. I received a text to my cell responded and they texted back that they were locate at the address listed on the website. They said they also do delivery and accept pick up in person and that they were flexible on weekends only. They said we could come Saturday or Sunday from 8:00 to 6:00 the cost of the puppies was $700, that two would be $1400, that I would make a deposit $400.00 now with Zelle pay or cash app, then once I get there I would only owe $1000.00 for balance. This was on Monday 6.21.21. I the. Asked about expected adult growth weight and they answered back 3-4 lbs. I requested up to date photos to show my husband of two puppies ( I specified Chase and Jones) they let me know they take new pictures twice weekly and the ones they were sending were taken 2 days prior, so new ones would be on Wednesday. So if we reserved the two requested we would get updated photos twice a well until Saturday. Until Saturday for pick up.

I think asked if the registration paperwork they mentioned on the website was for registration for AKC registration. they texted back “Yeah we can register them for you using your informations.”

I texted them back saying very good. We would like to put down the deposit and pick up the puppies on 06.26.21. I told them I’d never used this cash app before and asked them to let me know how to send payment.

They said if it’s my first time it will give me issues, so they prefer Zelle if I don’t mind, and yeah, Saturday is a good day.

Next text was “Zelle pay please send us screen shot to confirm it came from me, then the email address [email protected] followed by the name Lauren Kelker, and $400. Then another short text asking if I was there.

I let them know I was trying to work out the app. They said app won’t work, I needed to simply use my mobile banking app and what was the name of my bank. I told them I use chase and they said Chase do have Zelle. They followed this with instructions on how to do the purchase. They again asked for a screenshot to confirm it came from me. Then they sent information again on what to type in. I sent them a screen Scott because it did not go through. And they said it was because the phone number 406-890-6157 was not linked with their Zelle acct. they again said to send it through the email and name and amount. The deposit went through. They responded, thank you, checking now.

I texted them I was ver nervous, never done this before. I let them know we’d recently lost our dog To y very suddenly and really missed having dogs in our home.

They responded don’t be, everything will be ok. Idaho is a driving distance for them to deliver with their delivery van if we decide within the week we can make full payment , we will drive down and hand deliver, no shipping fees.

I told them we would drive over to pick the dogs up on 06.26.21. I let them know I’d already set up the requested veterinarian appt for the following Monday 06.28.21. They responded with lovely. I verified we could be able to pick up between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm . They responded that was good and said “welcome” anytime”

On 06.22.21 I called the number listed and attempted to speak to someone as my husband and I had a question about one of the puppies we’d reserved.

The man who identified himself as Lauren called me back at about 10:20am PST and I explained we were a bit on the fence about getting a white dog, but if the black puppy was still available and compatible she. We got thee, could we take him instead. He reassured me that we could do that.

The next contawe received was a text on 06-25-21 and reads like this “hello I am really sory believe me. Tomorrow we’re going on a road trip to Minnesota to deliver 3 puppies 1 at North Dakota and I at Minnesota and the last one at Iowa and this will take us 2 to 3 days before we can get back home so I was wondering if you guys can make up your mind which 2 of the puppies you guys wants and make final payment so before leaving tomorrow we can register them with a Nanny tomorrow and send you guys flight info please. Because if you guys decide to wait for us to be back this means you guys will only be able to visit us next Saturday or Sunday please think about this. Again we’re really sorry but we can’t do otherwise we have already 3 puppies purchased already and tomorrow is delivery date.”

I texted back we can decide right now but I would prefer speaking to them directly right then. They answered back they had a common cold hope that won’t disturb me, let me call you instead. I said ok.

They then called us and we (my husband and I) had them on speaker while discussing this, we told them we could be there before they were due to leave on their road trip, setting up a time of 3:30 am. To meet them at 14 Cloverview Drive, Helena Montana 59601. Then ended the call.

We made sure to text them we would be no later than 3:30 and in fact would reach Helena, Montana around 11:00.

They responded via text saying “3:30 am prompt please just because you guys normally were open from 8:00am for visitors. Be there at 3:30 if they are still here we will meet because we’re going to bed and have a long drive tomorrow so respect time 3:30please.

We did arrive in Helena around 11:30 06.25.21 and spent a couple hours waiting. We drove up to the residence as directed. I texted them we were there at 3:19am, just let us know when they were ready. After a few minutes I texted again Lauren, my husband and I are here on time to pay for and pick up the Pomeranians we have the deposit on. Still no response.

After 3:45am my husband exited the car and went to the from door. Ther was a sign taped inside the storm door that said this was a scam, they did not sell puppies and had never had any puppies and to report it to the police.

We left and drove over to a local gas station and decided to report this to the police in Helena. Officer Zapata badge 711 took our report. He let us know there had been several complaints very recently involving the address and a puppy scam, they people that live there are not breeders, have never sold puppies.

I texted the person and let them know we’d reported them to the police.

At 4:08 I got the repose via text OMG, we never heard you guys knock or do anything we waited for call nothing we left by 3:30am.

I responded back that they were lying. Let them know about the sign on the door and that we’d Ben outside the residence at 3:00 and waited befor approaching the residence after they did not respond to texts or calls letting them know we were there. I told them I expected a refund immediately of the $400 that day.

We told them to check the front door, we took pictures of it. Next we texted them to call Mr Zapata at 406-457-8839. He can confirm.

They then text back : we will sliver your puppies. The address I gave you is not the exact address, I had to pick you guys up from there and take you to the actual spot we don’t share the exact location of our breeding ground for security purpose. When I am back we can arrange a met, to meet.

I texted him back, wow the people who live at this acres are interested in why you have their address on your website. Do they know you are using it for security purposes?

They texted back We will see them when we’re back but honestly I can’t let you down we can fix everything

I texted back yes you can. Return my deposit.

They responded no we don’t work like that ma’am.

I texted them back- yes I figured. I got the way you work this morning after a 5 hour drive at night to meet them. I requested they contact Mr Zapata at 406-457-8839 for any other arrangement , he will be our Helena contact for you.

Since them I have received no contact, I have reported this to the bank, Zelle customer service and posted on two websites for social media about this scam.

I am sorry about your experience m, but I’m so glad you posted! I emailed them last night and they contacted me today! I asked them their location. I looked up Helena Montana teacup pompoms and your post came up! I then used the information you posted to know exactly what to ask them. They gave me the address that you reported in your post! I knew right then it was a scam! Thank you for sharing!
