I received a mailing from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company. The mailing has an incorrect Social Security number. The company wants me to verify my social security number. They wanted me to respond by December 1. I went to the Social Security office. They have my correct Social Security number. They advised me not to give my social security number out. There is no phone number on the mailing to contact the company. I have never done business with them. Letter states I would be penalized $50 by the IRS if I failed to give the correct Social Security number. I feel the letter could be a scam to get my personal information.
