They phoned us saying we had ordered toner from them, all we needed to do was pay the invoice before they could ship it. They even knew the name of the office girl. We almost paid until we found out that they were a scam. They had charged us $2136.37!!!

Our company had recently been contacted by a man named "John Shell" who claimed to be a representative at Xerox and knew about all the printers we have in our office. He spoke with my colleague who is in charge of ordering office supplies and mentioned  that the price for toners had gone up and a notice was supposed to be sent out to all Xerox clients, but we were one of a few companies that they neglected to notify. He apologized and said that they would honor the original price for us and said that 2 orders would be sent to our office. "John" then said that the toners would be sent by a supply center that they are affiliated with and that someone would be in touch. We received the invoice but didn't send any payments. Later, we realized that we receive toners for free from Xerox and knew this was a fraudulent act.

The company 'name' is Providence Support Centre and they first called under a different name (can't remember which) inquiring about our copier needs. I informed them we had just got a new copier and then they asked which model (I told them).

Then, a couple weeks later I get another call saying that my toner prices are going up by 20% so I should order now to get the old pricing. They referenced my correct copier model and made it sound like I was just ordering my normal toner a little early to get better pricing.

They demanded payment within 15 days of order and the invoice indicated a 10% discount if paid within 5 days. I contacted Ricoh and they said it was a scam. It turns out this company doesn't exist on the web and their address is a mailbox in Vancouver.

Also the guy said his name was Tom Hamilton. Could be a coincidence but that name is also the bassist of Aerosmith
