These guys cold-called my cell phone, and asked about buy my unused weeks at Vidanta in Mexico. I've worked with a similar company in the past, and they make incredible offers, that you'd be a fool to refuse. Everything looks legit. Then they tell you that you need to front the money for the legal fees, or the taxes, or some other money, by wiring to a bank in Mexico. They tell you it's an escrow account, but it's not. This is where I called the other company's bluff. I told them I'd do it if we used an American bank, of my choosing, and they balked. Of COURSE they balked!

Vidanta really messed up, because I see other complaints about companies trying this scam. I'm tempted to tell Vidanta I'm done with them, because they let my personal information get into criminal hands, but the fact is I don't pay them anything unless I stay there anyway, so it wouldn't do any good. These criminals would still harass me on my phone.

Now, whenever I get a call like this (it seems like I get 4-5 per month), I just curse at them, wish them harm, hang up, and add their phone number to my carrier's blocklist. I recommend you do the same.
