There was a FaceBook market place post “Steinway&sons giveaway” by a person named “Larry Thompson”. When I contacted him, he answered that he was posted it for his sister and gave an email address to contact a person called “Rosetta Flower”.

She answered that she was willing to give her late husband’s piano to someone instead of selling because of his will. She asked to contact Prompt Couriers, and gave a reference ID. When I contacted via live chat of Prompt Couriers website, the customer service showed me the picture of packaged piano and asked to pay the moving fee. They sent me an invoice of $843 and the instruction of sending the money. It was through cashier (Sheanine Allen)’s personal PayPal account. They asked to send them the receipt via email so that they can

prepare for the shipment.

3 days later, they gave me a”trucking number”.

But on the morning the item should’ve delivered, they sent me an email. On that email, “we found unexpected outstanding payment of the item of $1424”. “Rosetta Flower” offered me that she would pay $350 for me but she didn’t know that outstanding payment, and asked me to pay the rest of it. Prompt Couriers demanded to pay the money in 24 hours “while the item was still very close from your place. If you don’t pay, the item will be returned to the warehouse”. They didn’t want to reveal their actual address because of their company’s policy.

Facebook Market Place: Posted a Samick baby grand piano. Said his sister died and he had no room for it, but if we paid the shipping it could be rerouted to our address. We paid $640 for shipping. Then the bogus shipping company (Prompt Couriers) said we needed to pay an additional interstate tax of $450. This brought up a red flag since the piano supposedly was in California (same state as our home). The owner that posted the add went by the name Francene Lemmon. He/She stated he/she would be willing to pay $150 if we paid the $300. This really sounded fishy, so I told him if he paid the $450 and once the piano was received we would pay him back. At the point we didn't hear back, and requested the $640 be returned from the shipping company, which also stopped communicating with us. BEWARE of things too good to be true!

Reviewed company for scams and reviews. No red flags. Company support contacted again saying needed to pay extra taxes. Paid again, but same thing. Needed more money for delivery.
