I was contacted by someone names Rena John with Progressive Insurance Company via text message. She said that she was contacting me from the recruitment team and received my resume on indeed.com. She then instructed me to download the app-WhatsApp to conduct the interview. Once I was on the app the interview commenced, even though it was 730pm. I found this strange so that hinted to me that this may be a scam. I answered the preliminary questions and received instructions that I would be sent a check in the mail to pay for the office equipment that I would need. I found this strange because the job description stated that I would need to supply my own equipment for this position. I also found it strange that the pay was $42.00 per hour which is way more than reasonable for the position they were seeking. After the interview was over, I was told to "log on" to WhatsApp on Monday morning for further instructions. I deleted the conversation and deleted the app.
