Company poses to process federal student loan forgiveness. Loan documents appear to be from legit federal sources. Expedited processing is promised in April 2015 following my online research about teacher loan forgiveness in shortage areas. A false account username was created, income information falsified to consolidate and make a $0 loan payment, and we were told we had to make payments for a certain number of months to qualify for forgiveness. This June, an "annual recertification" email was received, thanking us for completing the process even though no one from our family submitted any documentation. This made us suspect scam... no answer at several 800 numbers available for document processor or third party payment processor. Contacting fedloan.org revealed that the loans WERE consolidated but NEVER applied for forgiveness, and the fraudulent access and falsified financial information do not even match information the company requested. Interest continued to accrue on federal loans, and payments made were NOT applied to principal or interest amounts, it was pocketed by "processing company"
