Prodigy Web Studios Reports & Reviews (9)

• Sep 12, 2023

In November of last year, I wanted an ecommerce site and found Prodigy Web Studios via a Google search. The Prodigy website certainly LOOKS legit -- so I called and spoke with a guy named Craig (or something). When they advised me to do an online marketplace, I listened. I began my project with "Mark Pace," (I KNOW, that should have been the tip-off) but he left and I was given another guy, "Jay Martin." Then there was "Steve," the developer who was supposed to lead the development. Then "Steve" was out of the picture for whatever [censored] reason; then ANOTHER, "Sean Miller," and a round-robin of new "contacts" -- roughly -- 8? 10? I couldn't keep track. The current miscreant in charge goes by "Jay Graham."

They "built" the first website to include 6,000 products. I never saw any actual merchandise; simply images of products. My site was a MESS. Completely non-functioning. The copy was placeholder only. The navigation was nonexistent. The images were from unknown sources. The modules were not composited. There was NO WAY any reasonable consumer would EVER take chances by hitting the "buy" button. (PS: No one DID.)

I contacted them to find out what was going on and got this story: "We're having internal conflict on the scope of the products. In order to have 6,000 products (I never could verify that there actually WERE 6,000) they'd need another $3,000 US. I paid it.

Then came the stream of "additional needs:" They needed another $3k to "run SEO." Then another roughly $1-2,000 every time to "make it compatible with Amazon." "Make it visible." "Advertise." And "run Norton Security." (The irony isn't lost on me now.) The litany of "needs" continued to grow, and as of this writing, they have over $25,000 of my money and I STILL do not have a functioning website.

These scammers are skilled liars. They're deceitful, accomplished at shell games and obfuscation—and AUDACITY? They had the BALLS to threaten me with "a call from their lawyers." They will suck every cent they can out of you and good luck getting any of it back. (But that is NOT going to stop VISA, MasterCard or OUR lawyers from trying.) We have reported them to the authorities -- but PLEASE be on the lookout for these slime bags.

Buyer Beware!
Buyer Beware! This company will hold your website hostage until you pay them double the agreed price. They will promise you back-end codes and access to your site, and then provide bogus information. When I finally got fed up and tried to move my site to a reputable hosting company they want to charge me $500 dollars more, despite not the honouring original agreement to provide EEP and back-end codes. I will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and contacting everyone who left a negative review about the same issues to do the same - we must take a stand against unethical business practices. Again, Buyer Beware!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!
These people are SCAMMERS!

They have three to four websites, Arts Studio, Prodigy Web, and Coders Avenue. I started business with so called project manager Samuel Martin April 2021. My purpose was to have a website built but Samuel is an expert con artist and he managed to up sell to me so $2800 turned into $8000 but there was no work done. I ceased to do business and request a refund, they agreed and paid back $2800 in August, it’s December 2021 and I’m still waiting for my $5400 remainder refund. April-December 2021 I got nothing from these people. From the start it’s been hard to reach them, they screen calls and change numbers. THEY ARE DISHONEST INDIAN SCAMMERS SO BEWARE because they are well spoken con artist. Don’t fall for it, read the poor reviews. They count more than the good reviews they post up themselves. TO HELL WITH THEM, I curse their lives. They are roaches and from this day nothing will work for them. CURSED! So be it!
MAJOR SCAMMERS

Thank you Michelle. I experienced them also but I was hard with giving out so much of my cash to them.

I paid Prodigy Web Studios design company since April 24th, 2021, to design a website for my business. There were other named incentives or benefits that attracted my decision or choice to go along with your company. I waited patiently thinking there was going to be (eventually) a website for me to announce my business presence online. For 7 months, I hoped and even stayed up late at nights working on making corrections on mistakes that should have been avoided e.g., SWEATER spelt as SWATTER; a product that the price tag was supposed to be $34.99 that was written as $3,499 and many others which I have evidential email
copies that I sent to your staff(s) severally and were never acted upon.
I did my surgery August 26th, 2021(I have medical records to show) and was supposed to be recuperating but was forced to be up and busy, sited up when I was in pain and would have chosen to lie down. I was doing more than your company that I paid to handle my work. You changed up to 5 or 6 staffs (though I believe it was same person or perhaps 2 staff members that kept re-branding with a different name whenever you sensed I was pressuring for my website to be concluded). Reason was to make it appear as if you were really trying to get my project done.
There was Fred Wilson, Jay Parker; there was Sam Martin; Tyler Justin and the last was Steve (no surname). With all the names and titles of Business Consultants and Senior Business Consultants working with Teams of other Staff member, I never got my website. I have goods worth over $30,000, I bought from February till date and having no website from Prodigy Web Studios. There was also a Jeffrey Jackson
that called as a Customer Support Person (I believed it was same Tyler Justin that rebranded himself because he was trying to find out if I would make a report of him to someone else). I do not have any income source since my Unemployment Benefits payments ended September 5th, 2021. I have suffered shortages by using my Credit cards for all expenses and rent payments; interests are accruing. I have bank loan also. I suffered health wise by sitting late hours trying hard to have you all do the right thing. I made corrections every night and sent to your emails to adopt my corrections, no one did adopt but all such corrections got loss in the emails. My work was neglected. The last straw was when Steve made attempt to push the delay to me when he asked me to arrange all the corrections (I had sent severally before, to
different staff of Prodigy but were not acted upon)into Excel for him to adopt but I chose to do so using PowerPoint and within 2 days worked so hard; sat up late at nights to produce about 60 PowerPoint Slides and I emailed to him. As I WAITED FOR SUCH TO BE ADOPTED, HE DID NOT RAISE A FINGER TO ATTEMPT
at MAKING NECESSARY CORRECTIONS. I have text message records where I pointed an example of correction, he (Steve) was supposed to have make but he did not do. He proved that he never looked through the PowerPoint to make corrections when he wanted me to point to him what I was referring to. My response was that I would prefer to travel down to sit down and teach him on what to do. I warned
him regarding my disappointment and dissatisfaction. He however apologized for all the time that was wasted with my job. He called and promised to give me details with which to log on to my account in order to make the necessary corrections myself. I did not say NO. I accepted to do it myself though I made mentioned to Steve that he should have given me the details long ago since he was deciding to give me the details- That was on Thursday November 18th or Friday November 19th. His promise was that I will get the details by the 21st Monday November 2021. On Monday, I called the number for Steve severally, almost all through the day; there was no response. (As I was surprised AND DISAPPOINTED), I decided to chat online with your company. My chat was with Lucas Scott. I have details of our chat. Lucas Scott
informed me that Steve called to say he was ill. Lucas promised to talk to Steve to reach out to me. By Tuesday, no call from Steve. By Wednesday, I tried to have my log-in details. Steve did not yield. He was pressuring me to pay another $1200 initially but later reduced to $600 for upgrade of SSL; AND PROMISED that I will get intensive Marketing that will make me sell so much as to make much profits within the first 5
months. I told him that I did not have money; not a dime because I am not on any income source AND HAS OVER $30,000 goods at home with receipts to prove that I was yet to sell because of having no website to sell. He refused to give me the details but promised in the text messages that he would call by Thursday, the next day. I reminded him that it was Thanksgiving and asked if he was going to be working,
No reply from Steve. I waited patiently till Monday after Thanksgiving, being 29th November. No call from Steve and I held my peace from calling him. By Tuesday being 30th November, I called Steve and told him that "Enough was Enough". I have looked else for a new website and got it do under 3 weeks. I demand that they pay my company, the sum of $5000 to take care of petty debt expenses incurred and reduce amounts that have built up as interests on my credit cards. I am also following them up in the legal system.

OMG your story is so similar to our story. I am going to file a complain here too. They got us for over $15, ooo. We have yet to get out website. They recycle themselves using different names and don’t answer. They are also very arrogant. I do intend to pursue legal actions. I hope you are well.
Edna

So accurate. They are scammers, thieves and liars. All fake names and fake accents. They are not located in the United States, their deliverables are extremely poor, they lie and scam, steal you money and do not take your phone calls or respond to your emails. Consumer please be aware, stay clear of this scam ripoff fake company. They use names such as “ Samuel, Mark, Sophia etc. they are legit fraudsters. STAY AWAY!

This is not a legit business they will take your money provide mediocre work, they will respond extremely fast at the beginning and slow down when it comes to doing work. We ordered a website from them they did the work for that and kept offering more and more services to the point when we said no they stopped responding and refused to refund the sum of the incomplete work.

I’ve been taken for thousands by this company. But thankful I’ve started legal actions against them. They will be finally held accountable.
