The scammers impersonated Intuit QuickBooks technical support. They stated that in order to complete data recovery, it would cost $499 for 90 days of protection. His name was Mike, from India. He kept saying "for $89" but it was really $499. They said the data recovery would take a couple hours and they would call and send a confirmation email. Neither of which occurred.
