Website has various videos showing the different views of the completed engine, different paragraphs on the craftsmanship and construction of the parts, photos of trays showing parts to be assembled, why it is educational and informative, etc. They have about 4 review statements of the product from "Verified Buyer" giving first name and initial of last name stating how great the item is, and is truly educational.
Then payment and shipping options are listed, and Return, Refund, and Exchange policies.
The only contact given is the Bright Buy, Georgia, Customer Support address.
I purchased item on January 18, 2025. After 2 days, I received information that item was shipped, from China it seems. Tracking of the shipping was very spotty - I never knew where the item shipped from. I received a small box on Feb 1, 2025, about 5"x5"x5", but tracking never noted that I received it. Upon opening the box, I told myself that since tracking doesn't show that I received the package, maybe this wasn't it since there was no way I would pay $1 for this plastic thing that wasn't worth anything.
The item came from the following address:
Armand
1990 Jericho Turnpike
New Hyde Park, NY 11040
The next day I received a notification that my Prismecho item was delivered.
I contacted the Bright Buy Support group indicating that i wanted a full refund on the item. I would return it for a full refund as the quality of the item was not as advertised. Their Customer Support urged me to keep the item and they would give me a 15% refund as returning it to their warehouse in Asia would be costly for me, and they have to receive the item for me to get any refund. Back and forth communications with me rejecting their offers of 15%, then 20%, then 25% refund, and taking forever to give me their address in Asia. And finally I get their Asia address after 4 communications (I was told I couldn't return it to the return address on the box (New Hyde Park, NY) which is: R2A Royal City, Thanh Xuan District, Ha Noi City, Vietnam Zip Code 100000. I told them I would return it to Vietnam. Unfortunately it would cost me $38 just for shipping, and I didn't want to send good money after bad money, so at this point, they are getting away with at least $50 for 4-cylinder engine (I think 8-cylinder engine costs $59.95).
I have copies of all my email communications with them; I have photos of the plastic item, which I would like to include in this report.
Why did product come from New Hyde Park in NY, yet has to be returned to Vietnam.
Why is item not a model kit to be assembled, rather is a fully built plastic model, not worth $1.00.
In my email communications with them, I told them I was copying the Better Business Bureau. I think their operation should be shut down as this is very distressing to the wary buyer.
