The caller described herself as a patient advocate for Prince Laboratories. She had my name and physical address which she asked me to verify. She told me that I was supposed to take a series of neurological tests and after obtaining my response to a series of questions she would send this information to my primary care doctor to order the testing. She asked for my Medicare membership number which I refused to give. I asked her what doctor had authorized this testing. She claimed that she was only a patient advocate and she did not know who initiated this testing process. She also did not know the name of my primary care doctor. When I continue to ask questions, she hung up.

Orthomedix contacted our patients who are both on Medicare. Patients called concerned they were being scammed. The next day our office (James Williams MD) received notices to sign off on braces for these two individuals. We do not treat these patients for these conditions and patients have never complained of conditions that would warrant braces. Orthomedix continues to berrate our office with phone calls and faxes despite having been told we will not comply.
