Responded to Mystery Shopper ad received by email (I was a mystery shopper before so I know they exist). Then received packet by USPS Priority Mail. Contents: simple one sheet "First Mystery Shopper" assignment, with a $2,450.00 check and instructions to deposit it into an "active checking account," and noted additionally that it could not be cashed, only deposited. Then $2000.00 was to be spent on 4 (four) $500.00 gift cards from Apple, which I was to scratch off and take photos and text to the number provided. Red Flag: Buying gift cards is not being a mystery shopper! I tore up the junk and deposited it to the trash. But I am college educated and this almost got my attention.
