Someone posing as my aunt asked me to “friend” her on fb, which was surprising, as I thought we were already friends. Just in case, I OK-ed it, and the next day (today) she messaged me and asked how i was doing. After a little chitter-chat, she asked if I was familiar with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, going on to say she’d received a check for $150,000 from them and that she’d seen my name on the list of lucky winners. She urged me to contact their agent. It sounded fishy, so I called my aunt, and she knew nothing of it. But in the meanwhile, someone is posing as her and accessing her contacts. Now I’m worried that they may do the same to me, posing as me and phishing my contacts. How do I prevent that, and what can you do to apprehend this person?
