Premium Support Services Reports & Reviews (1)

- Penfield, NY, USA

A year ago, I purchased a 1 year computer 'Support and Security' maintenance plan. about 2 weeks ago, I started getting phone calls stating that this company was shutting down and they wanted to refund me my money. Having been unemployed for 6 months, I thought - GREAT! They stated that they needed to de-install some things from my computer, that they would need access to control it and then will refund the money. I gave them access and when it came to the refund, they pulled up their own (fake) Credit card so it showed me how much money was in there. He then stated that he needed to access my bank account so they can deposit the money. I was skeptical at first as I was like, no way was I going to give them my information but then he said - well, you see our accounts so everything is out int he open. I RELUCTANTLY inputted my information and I was supposed to be 'refunded' $299.00. They 'accidentally' deposited $1500.00 and said that I needed to pay them back. I'm like - how do I do that and he responded by telling me to send gift Cards. That is when I stopped everything and told them that this Scam. Of course he assured me it wasn't, that if I don't send it back, I am stealing, that he could lose his job and, what scared me the most, was that he had access to my bank account and said that he could take all of my money. Still, I didn't send anything. I hung up on him but of course called a 10 times while I tried calling my bank. I finally got my bank and they said that nothing was taken out, that they just moved money around from one account to another so it looked like they took money. They put a stop on my account until I was able to go to the bank the next day. I opened all new accounts and had someone look at my computer to make sure there wasn't anything on it (there wasn't). I have multiple phone numbers (Burner phones I'm sure) that they called from, have taken screen shots of all of the calls they made and saved messages and while I put a 'do not call' on the numbers, I did get 2 calls today with yet another number saying that things are going to a collection if I don't respond. I also changed most of the passwords on accounts that are important (Amazon, PayPal, EBay, etc. anything my CC/debit card is on file). I don't want to upload the info I have as I'm at work so I can send the pics I have later when I'm home. When talking with the bank on the phone, I was describing what happened and he said that that's a common scam - even my x-husband knew about. Just embarrassed that I fell for it.....
