Consumer was called by PPL Electric, where she is a customer. Company called her from 800-342-5775 (which is actual phone number for PPL - https://www.pplelectric.com/my-account/contact-us.aspx) with an ext# the consumer could not remember. Caller told her that she had 45 minutes to pay $1485 past due bill or electric would be shut off. She was told go to a Rite Aid and then call 844-773-1396 for further instructions. Consumer called PPL at 800-342-5775 and they informed her that she does not owe this amount and that it is a scam.
