Called to say my electric bill was not paid and if not paid with in 30 minutes my electric would be shut off and it wanted you to talk to someone to take care of the payment .

I received a call from (502) 791-9751. A female voice said that my power will be disconnected for non-payment in 30 minutes and she asked me to stay on the phone and to talk to one of their service representatives. This was clearly an attempt to steal money.

I received a call from a women claiming to be from Georgia Power. She stated we were scheduled for disconnect today and a tech was 30 minutes away. She said that they didn't show our payments for the last three months. I gave her the check numbers, dates and amounts of all three payments. She proceeded to tell me that they had to investigate where the payments had gone and that I would have to make a one time payment over the phone in order to stop the disconnect on our account. She said once the investigation was done, that they would credit our bill within the next 6 months. I told her she was full of crap and hung up on her. I immediately called Ga Power and the automated line confirmed that the account was current and nothing was due.
