I applied for a job on line as a secret shopper working for Walmart. A text message was sent to my phone stating that I was selected for the job and instructions would be sent to me by USPS. The first package was sent to me with two checks payable to me from a credit union. I was instructed to deposit the checks into my bank account and await further instruction. I called the credit union and gave them the check numbers and informed them about the scam. I went to the police department and was informed to just destroy the checks. A few days later another check arrived. The scammer wants you to cash the checks and purchase Walmart gift cards, scratch each card to reveal the 16 digit code and the 4 digit pin and send a picture of each card to the scammer.
