This started out an an online adoption of a Kitten which was supposed to me in my state, however 150 miles away. The adoption included delivery if the kitten. After the date of delivery was agreed, I was notified my kitten was on her was. Then a few hours later (past the anticipated delivery time by ground) they said the road conditions were to severe and she was being taken to the airport. I would receive four ther instructions. I did receive further instructions that I needed to pay for a TSA approved crate. I agreed, then I got another email that said that crate was not available and I needed to pay for the upgraded crate. Thinking about this 8 week old kitten, I agreed to pay for the upgraded grate. I was told her travel time was under an hour to my local airport (supposedly in the same state) . I get a text stating she has arrived at the airport and to check my email for additional instructions. I check my email and now I’m being asked for MORE money to pay for refundable pet insurance. I insisted no, that was not part of the adoption and not required for transportation. The delivery service should be insured.

Later, again longer that what would have been that travel time from the airport to my door, the driver called with a heavy accent to confirm I have paid for insurance. I asked him where he was, he named the private airport close to me. Another REDflag. I asked him to confirm my delivery address, he could not. I asked him to confirm the road he was traveling on, he could not. I asked for a photo of his navigation, he said he could not. I asked for a photo of the kitten in the crate I paid for, he s aid he could provide one.

As soon as I claim it a scam I was receiving texts and calls from the fake adoption party. They continued to say I needed to pay these fees and they were refundable.

Total BS! I said as a “seller” all of this was their responsibility, not mine.

The shipping company called and said the well being of the kitten was also my responsibility since I am the new owner. I insisted the kitten was their responsibility while she was in transit. Ugh! Who know if the photos and videos of the kitten are legit. Now Im working on getting my money back.

I did have my bank on the phone to open a dispute during one of the calls from the delivery driver. It was helpful for her, as she could witness this being bogus.
