Ponto is promoting their business on various social media platforms to be a company looking to hire remote “security guards” to watch CCTV video and report suspicious behavior. The application only asks for your name phone number and email, then approves you and tells you that you need to purchase a background check for $37. The background check redirects you to a different website, which is only to get you to buy a fake background check. The scam lies in tricking you into paying for a background check that isn’t real for a company that isn’t real. I hadn’t yet paid the $37 but going through the internet and researching the company there is absolutely no information available. Be very careful!
