Since the beginning of Sept 2020, I have been receiving calls from a Man who identifies himself as being from "Police and Sheriffs Alliance" He was requesting a donation of $35 or more. I have a son who is a Police Officer, and I fell for it. He wanted a CC # over the phone. I told him, I do not give it out over the phone, he was very pushy. I told him the only way I would do it, is by mail, so he transferred me to another lady, who took my address, and did mail an envelope. I did send a $35 check, which cleared my Credit Union AFCU on 9-15-20, check# 344. After I donated, I assumed I wouldn't be bothered again for at least a year. Wow was I wrong. The same man with a very distinguished voice kept calling, almost daily, no matter how many times I told him to remove me from the call list. Then after a few months the calls became automated robo calls. I receive multiple calls, almost every day. I block the number immediately, and then the just call again on a different number. Often times the calls wake me up in the mornings.The reason this seemed legitimate, the first time he called, is because unlike most scammers, his english is very good, and no foreign accent.. I wish someone would put a stop to this. I wish I would have kept the address on the return envelope they sent to me. At the time I sent the donation, I still thought it was legitimate.
