Applied for a loan via a link on social media to a company that I later found out was a scammer impersonating a legit financial company. They sent an email saying that my loan had been approved and I'd get funds within 24 hours of submitting my PPI payment. I sent the payment (stupid me) and then got suss when I was looking at the payment details. I google searched the name, and he was not part of the company. So I investigated further. The address given did not have any google links, nor was there any such company on google maps. The website address did not match the actual company's website address, and had apparently only been created today and was not trustworthy with a rating of 4.2/10. The photos of the "staff" were stolen off the internet after going a reverse image search. And googling the staff names, returned zero results. Also the abn and acln didn't match.
