A scammer by the name of Khalid Bowman sent me a text message on October 12, 2021 asking about me by name and asking if I perform gaffer/lighting services. I replied and said yes and asked who I was speaking with. They answered saying that they were the production coordinator for Phranakorn Film and that they were shooting a short film in November & requested that I hold the production dates for them to be a gaffer. They then said that they couldn’t share more details at the time because they were on set and sent me an email address to send my resume and demo reel to. Upon sending them an email, I received a response in about two days. Most of the information seemed legit until it came to payment. They said that there will be a production meeting a week before the shoot that I will get paid for, however some of that money supposedly was also for securing production equipment despite saying that they were in contact with a vendor to supply the equipment. They do a pretty good job of making everything seem legitimate, however I believe this is a scam because of the unclear terms of payment.
