Scammer sent text messages to at least 6 of my work colleagues purporting to be me (signing text messages with my name, title, and organization). First message that my colleagues received: "Hi (name), are you free at the moment?" followed by my name, title, and organization. Text response when colleague responded to text before realizing it was not me: "Need to ask you to complete a quick task I'm about to send out an e-thank you card and need some google cards to complete it. How far is the closest grocery store to you? Currently in a meeting so text would be best" Scammer appears to have sent texts to all of my colleagues at around the same time on Sunday afternoon (October 22nd), as my colleagues all alerted me about the texts at the same time. My colleagues who received the texts are located in multiple states, but we were all together last week at a conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
