I was approached for an audition for film projects, but the initial email had a lot of typos and was vague. They didn’t use my name as if it were a mass email to several people and the filmmaker only used his first name. They wanted to meet in person, but they were vague about the exact location and details. A link to their script looked like a phishing site The website that they were connected with had poor design quality with unfinished coding. Their catalog of content has too much variation in quality. Some was poor, as if done with a cell phone and some looked like it was ripped from other movies to create a “teaser trailer” that looked beyond their capabilities. There was no information about the production company and the only person listed was not the person who contacted me. I don’t know if the website is fake or if an imposter was using their links and posing as someone who worked with them. The lack of communication, the vague information to lure me to a location by myself made me scared that there was malicious intent behind this proposal.
