The scammer claimed to be affiliated with a company that was supposedly hiring for a remote, part time data entry clerk position. They asked me to download Microsoft Teams so I could connect with the hiring manager. I did not download Microsoft Teams. Instead, I asked for the company website then I searched for the hiring manager via LinkedIn. His profile stated he was retired. I suspected this was a scam, so I contacted the email on the company website. I tried to report the "fake" recruiter's email address to them but was told the email account I submitted the form to is no longer monitored. The only personal information the "fake" recruiter has is whatever is provided on my LinkedIn resume -- which includes my name, phone number, Gmail address, and employment/education history. I did not provide a SS# or any bank info.
