Type of a scam Credit Cards
The gentleman claiming to be xxxxx, who is the actual president/ceo of the xxxxx of Fly Fishers asked that our catering company supply a meal for 130 guests at his home for "his lovely wife." When I forwarded all of the information and was ready to accept the first half of his payment, he asked me to charge the shipping fee on his credit card - after asking what type of credit card processing machine I used.
I believe this is a scam because he initially asked for the meal to be served, then later stated that someone would come to pick it up. I asked several times where the meal would be served and he would only say "don't worry, it will be at my residence." Also, a legitimate customer does not ask you to cover the shipper's fee because the shipper doesn't have access to a credit card processing machine.
I will gladly forward all of the correspondence with this "fake" customer, if needed.
