Possible spam texts

Not sure how this business received my number, but I have received a few texts from this number. I even clicked the STOP option at the end of the text. Instead of receiving the response you typically receive from a text, I received a phone call from the number. I'm not sure if someone is spamming the number, but I do have a screenshot of the 2 texts, as well as the response "STOP" and nothing after.

Petland sells puppy mill puppies. No reputable breeder would ever sell puppies to a pet store! Reputable breeders breed for the health of the puppies. Reputable breeders do not have USDA licenses, only puppy mills! No reputable breeder would ever cross breed two different breeds as it makes them prone to the diseases of both breeds. Puppy mills don't care about the health of the puppies. They just breed for the money. Petland is not going to admit to selling puppy mill puppies. It would be bad for their business. They make millions of dollars!

How Petland Stole Christmas

As I sit here crying and writing this review, I really hope you give it a 2nd thought to ever step foot in this place. These people are absolute thieves. Day before yesterday my sister and I went to Petland while Christmas shopping just to look around. I had no intentions of buying a puppy that day. However, I ended up meeting the absolute perfect dog for my son and I and fell in love. After losing my husband this year, I’ve wanted nothing more than to give my son the best Christmas possible without his daddy here anymore, and this puppy was the dream Christmas present I could give him.

After spending over $4K on the puppy (and this was AFTER talking them down over $2K from the ridiculous price they originally had when I agreed to pay cash), the next day I unfortunately found out I was unable to keep the puppy due to a landlord issue. During the ridiculous sales pitch they were giving when buying the dog, I was told by not 1, but 2 employees, he could be returned for a full refund within 48 hours.

As if I wasn’t already emotionally distraught enough having to take our sweet Cooper that was so perfect for us back and that I had already grown so attached to, I then had to encounter the absolute WORST experience at an establishment I’ve ever had in my life. They came back with a letter saying I had to pay a 25% rehoming fee for the price of the dog, despite the fact that 2 employees told me they had a 48 hour return policy and never mentioned ANYTHING about a “fee”. After trying to explain that this was never mentioned and that 2 employees blatantly stated MULTIPLE times I had 48 hours to return and never mentioned any fees, I end up with 1 of those employees in my face, yelling and lying through her teeth that she “went over the ‘rehoming fee’ policies with me when doing paperwork”. Not ONCE was this ever mentioned.

Despite her rude behavior, the other employees spent the rest of the time I was there handing over my son’s Christmas gift laughing in my face, making snarky comments, and downright treating a customer who had just spent thousands with them HORRIBLY.

They didn’t care that it was Christmas in 2 days, that I had to give my son’s dream Christmas gift back that was supposed to help his 1st Christmas without daddy be a little bit easier, or that THEIR EMPLOYEES gave me incorrect information and failed to ever mention such an important part of a return policy. All they cared about was the same thing all the other reviews say, money.

To say these people are downright heartless doesn’t even justify it. I had to pay them $1,000 to return a puppy after ONE DAY and was told when I purchased I could do. How these people could try to justify charging 25% of something already WAY overpriced that costs THOUSANDS of dollars, I could never understand.

So other than stealing my money, how did they steal Christmas? Well, I unfortunately had some unexpected expenses come up last night that cost thousands, and that $1,000 they took from me today was the only thing I had to try and still give my son a Christmas after losing his dad. Now, 2 days before Christmas, I’ve gone from having the most perfect present for my son, to having nothing for him and crying my eyes out trying to find a way to afford to get him something nice from Santa after this place stole my money and literally laughed in my face about it this morning.

To the people at Petland, I truly hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and can actually sit around the tree with your family opening up gifts, with your dogs, knowing you took that from my son, ruining the Christmas of a young child who had already gone through so much this year by your greedy and downright dishonest, WRONG business practices.

Please, don’t EVER go here. I should’ve listened to the reviews, and now here I am kicking myself, trying to figure out how I’m going to give my son a Christmas this year.

They had a man on the road with a sign that said puppies for sale. Went in to check it out and was shown two puppies for sale. The first one was a pug and the second a chihuahua. Full blooded. Said they were born in a kennel out west. The first one they wanted $4,000 and the second puppy they wanted $6,000. Felt it was way over priced and a lot of folks were looking but no one buying based on the outrageous price. I didn't think that puppies could be sold in a pet store and not for that outrageous price. Felt uncomfortable about how they were pushing the puppies. Would tell us where the puppies came from just said at a kennel out west. Have a picture of both of the puppies if you need it. Think this business should be checked out.
