There was a pop-up on my screen stating that I had pornographic material on my computer and that my IP address had been hacked and that I must call "Microsoft" to get my computer cleaned. The technician claimed to be from Microsoft and tried to prove he was from Microsoft so I believed him. He then remotely accessed my computer and showed me that 13 people had hacked my computer. I don't know exactly what he was showing me or where he was showing me this information from but it seemed legit. All in all he tinkered with my computer for over 2 hours and "cleaned" my computer and charged me $199 + $249 + tax for removal and a "firewall system" that I didn't really need in the first place as there was nothing wrong with my computer!! I called the company back asking for a refund and I spoke to some "manager" who insisted that I was not going to get a dime back and that he was going to report me for abuse because I raised my voice! Of course I raised my voice I was angry that I was taken advantage of! The company was NOT Microsoft and they did nothing but hack my computer!!
