IRS DOES NOT SELL, GIVE, OR CONTRACT OUT IN DATA TO ANY INDIVDUALS THIS IS A SCAM THE IRS WILL WRITE YOU SEVERAL TIMES THAN SEND YOU A CERTIFIED LETTER. THE IRS HAS ITS OWN COLLECTION DEPARTMENT.

About 5 days ago a company claiming to be a collection agency for the government Performant Recovery Inc called saying that I owed $29,171.21. They then sent a letter in the mail asking for the same amount.
