This person named Jordan Bellon at 800-927-7667 xt. 7786 called me about using their default student loan payment program. He sounded professional and was able to answer questions. Something still wasn't quite right with the call and the information he verified from me in order to "discuss the account". He asked my date of birth and last four digits of ss# and said his program could help me and that I could pay as much as $5 a month on my federal student loans. He also emphasized that if I wanted him to handle my account, then I needed to call back within a few days to ensure open communication or another representative would call me and he would not handle my account. That was just too good to be true. He asked about tax information when I filed and needed that in order to qualify me for one of their low payment programs. He also stated, if qualified, I would make 9 on time reasonable payments to them and then my FSL would be brought out of collections and eligible for forbearance/hardship. SCAM. Others have reported similar stories with this same companies. BEWARE and know this is not legitimate. PLEASE DO NOT VERIFY YOUR DOB OR SS# WITH THESE CALLERS. This is a SCAM.
