I contacted a person who said her name was Tanya Ward. She was supposably a breeder of Maine [censored] cats. They cost $500.00 plus $200.00 shipping. She said she was located in New York. She asked for payment by PayPal. She asked me to send the money as “Friends and Family” rather than sending me an invoice. When I paid her it said that I had paid Alief Consulting Services.

This morning she was supposed to ship the cat to me. I received an email from us pet transport asking me to buy or rent a carrier for either $800. Or $1000. I refused and asked for a refund for the cat. She said she’ll refund it tomorrow morning. I am quite certain that it will not be refunded because now that I have read about pet scams There were some red flags that I should have paid attention to: She used some broken English in her texts. She didn’t send me an invoice. She said she could ship it the next day. I didn’t know that those were all signs of a pet scam.
