I was approached via text about a work from home job for PeaceHealth. They prompted me to go on zoom and have an interview via texting. They were easy questions that mostly had to do with personal information. Afterwards, they offered me the job and told me of all this equipment I would need. They wanted to send me a check and then pay a software vendor for the equipment. Once I stated that I would need to wait 3 days after depositing the check to make sure it doesn’t bounce back, they halted communication. I suspect this was a scam all along. When someone wants to send you a check and then use that money to pay someone, that usually means you’ll end up using your own money because the check will bounce back.
