6/8/19-While using personal desktop computer, alarm occurred with female voice loudly stating "your computer has been compromised...a virus is attacking your firewall...please call microsoft number on your screen immediately...do not turn off computer! When number called (855-277-9745) a man stating he works for microsoft answers and states Webroot is not adequate to protect from virus attack...I had my banking info on the computer and questioned this gentleman extensively...finally purchased a better firewall that offered lastest technology for a lifetime!! Another tech "placed new firewall" and cleaned up my computer putting various new icons making it easier to use. I eventually called geeksquad ( i have 24 hr access) and they had a level 2 tech to check it out...stated it was a fraudulant scam! Disputed credit card charge within 6 hours of incident and cancelled card...went to Dekalb Co Police DEpt to fill out police report for Cyber security investigation...was informed this was probably located in India, Egypt, or Pakistan. Referred me to BBB. Hope these guys get put out of business!!!
