PCness.shop Reports & Reviews (1)

- Cheney, WA, USA • May 08, 2023

PCness is a website that advertises gaming computers for a lower price (but not too low to be unbelievable). I ordered a laptop for $699.00, which was maybe $120 cheaper than what it sold for on ******.

The website had several gaming systems and it looks like a legitimate site with reviews on their products and all. The computer I ordered had 60 reviews on it, including some that were negative. Upon looking back, I now see that all of the reviews were added on the same date of April 16, 2023.

Once you add a computer to your cart, it asks you to send money via PayPal to their business email, which is [email protected] and then to copy and paste the PayPal transaction ID into their website. I thought that was a little strange, but I know PayPal has protection built in and I also searched for PCNess.shop on the ScamPulse.com site and couldn’t find anything (positive or negative). I also googled that business to see if there was anything about it being a scam on the internet.

Once money was sent via PayPal, I realized this must be a scam since the person with that email ([email protected]) did not have a PayPal account and it said the transaction was pending this person creating a PayPal account to accept the money. I didn’t know the person’s name until they created a PayPal account to accept my money.

The name on the newly created PayPal account was Alejandro Torres Lujan Kixifyor and their email address was [email protected].

I promptly reported this scam to PayPal as well as my credit card company.

PayPal sent the dispute to the seller/scammer and they then responded by providing PayPal a legitimate UPS tracking number for a package that was delivered 4 days after I had placed my order. This package was sent to an address in my city, but the rest of the address was not ours. They couldn’t provide me with the address the package was delivered to, due to privacy concerns.

UPS stated that the package was from ****** and Amazon printed the label, so I needed to contact amazon.

Upon contacting Amazon, they confirmed that that tracking number was associated with someone else’s Amazon account. They also couldn’t tell me the address it was sent to, but they were able to tell me that the package was not a computer. They were able to tell me that the package with that tracking number included kitchen storage and canning supplies.

So I gave that info to PayPal as they had already closed my case in favor of the seller/scammer since they were able to provide a tracking number that says a package was delivered to my city and zip code.

PayPal stated that I needed proof that the package with the provided tracking number was not delivered to me. For this, I contacted Amazon again. Amazon was able to send me an email stating that the package with that tracking number did not go to my address.

PayPal indicated that if I sent this to them that I would get a refund. I am still awaiting the final decision.

This seemed like a pretty sophisticated scam as it involved a legitimate tracking number to my same city. Somehow, the scammer was able to get a tracking number for a package going to my same city at the right time to “prove” to PayPal that the item was sent.
