PC World Tech Support Team. Reports & Reviews (1)

- West Alexander, PA, USA

Received a phone message at home first in which the caller quickly said which business was calling, which was unintelligible despite listening to the message more than once. The person ("Victor"?) claimed the services I had purchased "in June" for "six hundred dollars" were no longer compatible with my device. In order to get a refund, I was to return the call; however, there was clearly NO call-back phone number left on this voicemail message. Once I checked my e-mail, I found a message from "Annie." The letter had a number of English grammatical errors and was signed only with "Billing Manager" at "PC World Tech Support Team." (note the small grammatical error here). When the number (which was in boldface type and shown on the letter three times) was dialed and answered, the person repeated what was said on the message; I insisted I didn't understand and stated "this must be a scam." Hearing this, the person denied it was a scam and hung up on me with "bye."

The letter claimed I was "charged" $499.99 for a year's subscription ("12 months") and it was "auto debited from your account today." It claimed they tried to reach me through "registered Phone number" (grammatical error), but the deduction supposedly had already been processed and would "appear into your bank statement within 48 hours." If I had any "Question" (error) or "Wish" (error) to cancel the "Renewal" (error), to "Please (error) connect us on (more errors here) + 1 (920) 309-6016 within 24 hr." (error).

There was more direction about a REFUND POLICY (note the sudden capitalization). English grammatical errors continued with the letter ending with no personal name and this: "Helpline no +1 (920) 309-6016."

I checked with the service provider of the transaction I made in June, and this is where my concern was validated: my service was not incompatible with my device and there was no renewal or impending charges. When I offered that I would notify the ScamPulse.com the customer service representative with whom I was talking agreed. I have wasted hours of my time this morning trying to get to the bottom of this useless claim, and because of this, I felt it should be reported.
