Received a credible looking PayPal recurring payment email with a message to contact 805-500-8694 to confirm if I didn't authorize payment. This is not the way PayPal works for recurring charges. Additionally, the merchant was not anyone I'd heard of and have not used Paypal for any recurring payments.

I was told a payment from me through PayPal was "approved" to a specific individual. There was a 1-800 number to call to cancel. When I called the number, they informed me I needed to download something on my phone so they could see all of my information. They asked all about my banking habits, whether I have them on my phone, how much I have in my bank account, and other related questions. They informed me they needed access to my phone to find out what the hackers got hold of as I had been hacked. When I asked them why they couldn't cancel or stop the payment, I got no answer. Fortunately I was unable to give them access to my phone and ended up hanging up before giving them access. They never called me back, and they didn't ask me for my phone number to call me back if we got disconnected. I want others tk be aware of this scamming tactic.

I deleted the message before taking any of the information down.

These guys are using PayPal as a receipt of a purchase. Has pay Pal header on the page along with transaction number and invoice number, with a 1808216 number

The August 30 email alert about a $600 charge gave a phone number that also appeared on my personal PayPal account home page. The PayPal support person (a "groomer") had the "PayPal Security" department (Steven) call me from Seattle WA 1-206-479-7363. He took control of my computer, accessed my bank account, later created a Zelle account in my name, and was about to send $600 to an unknown party. He changed my two-factor verification from my phone to webmail which was hacked, got the bank verification numbers, used them, then deleted the email from my Inbox while I was watching as I was on the phone with bank security. They killed the "new" Zelle account seconds before money was sent. Meanwhile, my Amazon account was hacked to use non-traceable credits to buy an X-Box gift card for $70.00. A reservation was made for a Chicago hotel via Expedia (that I never used) but would be billed to me as I was notified via text.. I called the hotel to cancel the bogus reservation -- I live in NH and have no connection to Chicago. My bank ATM/debit card with the same bank (BOA) was hacked in November with a "test" $1.00 transaction from AliExpress. I had the bank kill the card and issue a new one. When does this stop? Both Discover and BOA security staff never heard of such a sophisticated scam starting with a "verified" PayPal notice on their website.

I got an invoice from PayPal for Google play card. (399.00) I was on the bcc line.

I contacted PayPal to dispute the charge and freeze the account.

Phone call led to computer access. I looked up pay pal scams instead. They promptly hung up. They knew my postal code

Received email that the company was charging me over $850 for merchandise I never ordered especially through Pay Pal who I never knowingly do business with since they scammed me several years back. Tried to discuss this with some stranger who I could not understand his accent. Finally hung up on him
