My aunt is 87 years old and normally sharp as a tack. She received a medical diagnosis that day and was flustered. She walks every day in her neighborhood and the scammers were doing another driveway on Carol Drive in Enfield. My aunt, Veronica LaSalandra is located on 7 Lawncrest Road, Enfield, CT. They approached her and said they could come right over and do her driveway and would only charge labor since the materials were already there. The proceeded to take 2 days to do a very poor job of sealing cracks and repairing one area. The driveway is not that large. The did not have their own tools and used her clipper and wheel barrel. The asked for $7200 in cash and she paid them. She's had her driveway sealed in the past and did not pay anywhere near that amount. She called and asked them to pick up the excess asphalt and they demanded another $2500. She went to the police and they said the could not do anything. They gave her a number to call in case they returned in a harassing manner or would not leave the property. To date they have not returned to pick up the excess and during the last conversation they told her she owed $2500. She said she did not have that to pay and she could barely afford the $7200. They played games with how much they would charge, i.e. we could do it for $7000 if you pay now. She is very upset that she lost this money and she has nothing to show for it. She wants to warn others against this business and she would like to get her money back.
