On June 4, 2022 we searched on line for a florist in Sausalito, Ca to send flowers to a dear friend, who lives in Sausalito, for her birthday. Based on their web site and claims to have been part of the community for decades, we decided to call Patricia’s Petals and place our order. We chose a bouquet from an option on their extensive web site and were promised prompt delivery on that day with e-mail confirmation and that a receipt would be emailed to our email address. We never received notification of delivery or a receipt. There was a credit card charge for about $30 more than we had been quoted. We called our friend and a very ordinary bouquet had been delivered, similar to what you might purchase at Trader Joe’s. Nothing even remotely similar to what is advertised on their website. I tried calling back and the call made from my phone was unable to reach the number I was calling. Some recorded message indicated “the call was unable to be completed at this time” so I tried calling several more times and received the same recorded message. Thinking my call had been blocked, I tried calling from a different phone and no problem, the call to the same # went through. When I explained my concerns & unhappinesses with the order, they hung up. I then called my credit card company and was instructed to immediately LOCK my credit card, to protect me from fraud as the credit card company was familiar with this type of fraud. Surprisingly, the next day we received an ad on our iPad from Patricia’s Petals “located in Boulder, Colorado” where we live. There is no Patricia’s Petals in Boulder, Colorado where we have lived for 40+ years. They claim to have been here for decades. Same hype as as for Sausalito, CA. Our biggest concern is they now have our personal information, including credit card security code. The florist is possibly a cover for obtaining personal & credit card info. Looking on line, we have now discovered similar stories about Patricia’s Petals from numerous other individuals.
