Ricardo Gonzalez has an add on Trulia for an apartment in Dobbs Ferry, NY. My husband inquired about it and he asked us to submit an application for application fee to be considered and also include his brokers fee because this apartment was going to go fast. And because of the area it’s in and we are moving across state lines we went for it. He approved us and we schedule to come see the place. He takes us to the apartment, there is a person living there that he states will be out soon and we will have the place by June 15,2019. He sits us down and says he know needs a copy of our w2’s, last three paychecks and out ssn’s and drivers licenses all copies of course. And proceeds to tell us we also now need to pay the deposit. We haven’t met with the landlord or even seen a lease agreement at this point. He states he has to send this all information because they live in Florida. We have him the information, and he said he would be in contact with us the next week. As soon as we submitted that first payment a women contacted us saying he has a police report against him for fraud.

We look into him now, because we are worried. His “company” Patagonia the website forwards you to a clothing company’s website, the phone just rings and rings and you get a generic Verizon customer is not available at the end. No voicemail claiming the company or there business hours, ect... I then start to research him personally, I found an article from 2014 that he was being charged with grand larceny by the state of New York, but couldn’t find any follow up. I then proceed to go to New York’s public license website where you can search people and they companies to see if they hold brokers licenses. Neither him or the company holds on. Online his SIC and NAICS codes are coded as a museum and art company. His address are both bought virtual office space to just use the legitimate addresses.

We will be in contact with the police officer that already has a case against him and also filing our own for full refund and to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
