After submitting a resume on Indeed for a job listed with Partners of the Americas, I received a text supposedly from Penelope Kim who is listed as a Director of the organization. The text came from 215-422-3505. The first red flag was the text said it was about the job with “Partners of the Americans” rather than “Partners of the Americas”. I was given instructions to download the Wire App and communicate with Jessica Karcz for an interview. Jessica is also listed as an employee of the organization. In the text messages of the interview on the Wire app, I was told I had 4 hours to provide my references and asked if I “understood”. This was a 2nd red flag. There was no back and forth interviewing, merely canned questions. The job description they put on the Wire app did not match the job description put on Indeed. This was a 3rd red flag. The next day which was a Saturday, a job offer was emailed to me without my references being contacted. This was a 4th red flag. The email supposedly came from Barbara Bloch at [email protected] who is listed as an employee with Partners of the Americas. The job offer said to read it and when clear, to sign it and return it on the wire app. There was a deadline given of one business day to sign it, but I was told to report for work on Monday which would be earlier than one business day because the offer was emailed on a Saturday. The offer emailed said it was totally an online job yet the job title was “Office Manager”. The initial job on Indeed did not indicate it was a fully remote job. When I emailed back to ask for a phone call or some type of personal connection, there was no response.
