I posted on the fb page "Florida Vacation Rental Listings Owner Direct" that I was looking for a vacation rental in Venice Florida for the last two weeks of April 2023. I was contacted via fb Messenger by Glenda J. Parrotto who sent me a listing. She said this place was available for the dates I requested for a price of $2500 for two weeks. She sent me an agreement via fb Messenger and asked that I Venmo the $1000 deposit to a person named Cleveland Brown. I sent the money but then became suspicious. I contacted VRBO who had this property listed and they informed me that Glenda J Parrotto doesn't own this property. I then sent a note canceling the reservation and asking for a refund. I received no replies from Glenda. I requested a refund via Venmo from Cleveland Brown and it was declined. The agreement said I could cancel the reservation up to 7 days prior to my stay, but that didn't happen. I realized (too late) that the entire deal was a scam. I reached out through the Florida Vacation Rental fb page and received a message from someone claiming to be a lawyer, named Guidry Jada Rosemarie, but that also seemed suspicious. I have blocked them all from my accounts but fear I have lost my $1000.
