I paid Parrot Paradise Shop allegedly run by the breeder Chae Dexter $1,050 for an African Grey Parrot. Additional costs were then incurred. Shipping scammers "Advance Global Logistics" required a fee of $650 for a "covid approved" containment crate; they then demanded $1,300 for pet travel insurance out of which $1100 would be "reimbursed" or the parrot would not be shipped and detained in cargo. Upon "returning" the pet to the breeder, I was informed that I needed to pay $350 for a Vet check, food for travel and a new crate. The promise was that the parrot would then be shipped. When I contacted the breeder for flight arrangements, I was then told I needed to pay $200 for a health certificate. I take full responsibility for my stupidity. I would hate however for another unsuspecting person to be victimized in this way.
