Was searching for jobs on Indeed, applied to an Administrative Assistant position through the business Parlier Inc. They regretfully told me I did not receive the position but we’re impressed by my resume and referred me to apply to be a personal assistant to one of their top clients sending me his email address as listed above. Upon contacting him things got suspicious, he said he was out of town and would mail me a check to complete tasks he needed for the job. Received a check in the mail and it looks very fake, does not have the attorneys name anywhere on the check, has two addresses on it from completely different states, and the post marked envelope is also from a different state then the other two prior, I believe it to be a fake check scam. He also mentioned me signing up for a cryptocurrency account in the email, which I did not. Still have not met this attorney I am supposedly working for. Will not be cashing the check, want to avoid this to happen to others, especially those desperately looking for jobs through platforms like Indeed. Have reported the job posting on their website as well.
